Chunko, Donna J.   Of Springport, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 11, 2003, at the age of 76, under the loving care of her family and Hearland Hospice. Surviving are four children, Ronald (Sandy) Chunko of Springport, Thomas (Anna) Chunko of Spring Arbor, Audrey (Lawrence) Buche of Springport, and Daniel (Carolyn) Chunko of Eaton Rapids; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Cecil and Donald Lawton of Springport, two sisters, Ida Stouffer of Onondaga, and Nancy Yahnka of Springport, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, one brother, Marvin Lawton, one sister, Hester Pritchard, and her parents, Edgar and Jane Lawton. Donna was a life member of the Adams-Rockey VFW Post# 6056, Women's Auxiliary for 45 years. She was a homemaker all of here life; she loved to cook and garden. She was the best cook around. Funeral services will be held at the Robertson Funeral Homes, Springport Chapel on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at 1:00 PM with Paster Jack Fugate officiating. Interment will follow at the Springport Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday and Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, The American Cancer Society, or to the American Diabetes Association.

Ryan, Robert Lee. "Bob"   Of Leslie, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2003, at the age of 63. Surviving are one sister, Cathy (John) Coleman, five brothers, Charlie (Shirley) Ryan, Richard Ryan, Marshall (Debbie) Ryan, Rober Ryan and David Ryan, 13 nieces and nephews, three aunts, Betty (Ridley) Sherrell, Pauline (Max) Garver, and Eva. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, parents, Fannie and Bill Ryan, and one brother, Ronnie Dale Ryan. Bob loved to bea crossing-guard in Leslie, so he could see his kids. Funeral services will be held at the Robertson Funeral Homes, Leslie Chapel, on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Toby Teague officiating. Interment will follow at Felt Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Gallaway, Dorothy B. Of Leslie, was called home to the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E., and her parents. Surviving are four children, Shirley Fillingham of Leslie, Roger Gallaway of Jackson, Bruce (Vickie) Gallaway of Leslie, Kathy (Tim) Howery of Leslie; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces & nephews. Dorothy volunteered for the Leslie Outreach, and the Senior Office in Mason. She was also an active member at the Housel United Brethren Church until its closing and the with the Felt Plains United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at the Robertson Funeral Homes, Leslie Chapel on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Janet Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Felt Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.

Fink, Jan E. Of Leslie, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, August 30, 2002, at the age of 56. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Jean Pearson, and brother, Denis Fink. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Gary, one brother, Jerry (Norma) Pearson of Holt, several nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Julie (Richard) Maes of Jackson, and Linda Fink of Onondaga, brother-in-law David (Alyce) Fink of Interlochen. Jan was a past vice-president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #3727 of Holt; she was also a trustee of the post. Jan was a 1964 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School. Jan loved the outdoors and her pets and critters. Funeral services will be held at the Robertson Funeral Homes, Leslie Chapel on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Deborah Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Leslie. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and Wednesday, from 9 AM until the time of the service. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan or to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #3727 of Holt.

GROSS, MYRA KOEHNE Of Pleasant Lake, passed away under the loving care of her family and Hospice on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at the age of 94. Mrs. Gross was born June 20, 1908 in Columbus, GA, the daughter of the late Morris and Alice Gibson Koehne. She was a member of the Leslie Congregational United Church of Christ in Leslie, MI. She worked for the United States Government at Fort Benning, GA for 27 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Gross, whom she celebrated her 60th anniversary with, six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Alice (Clyde) Erwin of Leslie; three grandchildren, Jon (Terri) Hoffman of Pleasant Lake, Janis (Charles) Barratt of Leslie and Jeanette (Troy) Lamphere of Jackson; five great-grandsons, Lyn and Troy Hoffman, Brad and Todd Barratt and Zachary Lamphere; one great-great- granddaughter, Mackenzie Lamphere of Jackson; one brother, Morris Koehne of Travares, FL and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews. She was formerly a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus. She has lived in Pleasant Lake for ten years. Funeral services will be held at the Leslie Congregational United Church of Christ on Monday, October 14, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Kris Abbey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 13, 2002 from 4 to 7 p.m. Myra requested that cremation take place following the services and that her ashes be buried in Columbus, GA next to her husband.
